As impossible as it sounds, you will survive taking your daughter to college, leaving her in her dorm room, and crying all the way home. I have done it twice - first with my daughter and then with my son. And after the first several weeks go by, and you grow used to the quietness of the house, you realize that this is the "new normal". Trips to Missoula will be fabulous and before you know it, your daughter will be home for a long weekend or the holidays. You have done your job, Mom. You prepared her to use her wings and fly!
